Naaz, Kesar warn against abrogation of Article 370

JAMMU, May 29: Choudhary Bashir Naaz – Chairman State Advisory Board for the Development of Gujjar Bakerwal, has said that any attempt for abrogation of Article 370 of Constitution of India will have serious percussions.
He said that due to tireless efforts of the Government, the situation in Jammu & Kashmir is limping towards normalcy and irresponsible statements shall adversely affect on the situation in J&K State.
The Minister who has issued such controversial statements must have updated his knowledge about the background under which Article 370 was enacted and the circumstances prevailing at that time of its enactment as well as the compulsion of the then Constituent Assembly which enacted it, Mr Naaz said adding that any type of fiddling with Article 370 is bound to open the pandora box of many other such sensitive issues.
Sham Prasad Kesar Regional Secretary CPI (M) Jammu has also condemned the statement of the Minister Incharge of PMO regarding repealing of Article 370 of Indian Constitution.
Kesar said that it is unbecoming on the part of Minister concerned to raise such a sensitive issue which has a potential to vitiate the political atmosphere in the country in general and J&K State in particular.
This Article is of utmost importance and a vital link between the J&K State and Indian union, he said adding that even then Home Minister Sardar Patel had said that since J&K had exceeded to Indian union under the peculiar circumstances as such peculiar treatment needs to be given to J&K State.
Mr Kesar said that raking of such a sensitive issue is bound to prove counter- productive for the national unity and secular fabric. He cautioned that new Government should focus on restoring the eroded provisions of the said article to work as an important confidence building measures for everlasting.
