JAMMU, May 29: Jammu and Kashmir Christian Association (JKCA) has appealed President and Prime Minister of India to make amendment in the Article 331 of Constitution of India (CoI) by changing word ‘Anglo Indian’ by Indian Christian.
Submitting representation to President of India as well as PM, Waris Gill, president, JKCA, requested for amending Article 331 of Constitution of India by changing word ‘Anglo Indian’ by Christian of India, alleging they are minorities and needed encouragement.
He further said as per Article 331, the President of India may nominate not more than two members in the House of Commons (Lok Sabha) and we (Indian Christians) feel that at present there is a dire need of nominating two Indian Christians as the population of Anglo Indians has diminished and on the other hand the population of Indian Christians is increasing day by day.
