SRINAGAR, May 30: Doctors and paramedics today suspended routine work for one hour to protest the ‘unjustified’ suspension of Doctors Association President, Dr Nisar-ul-Hassan.
The protest call was given by DAK and in part supported by medics in all major hospitals of the city.
Doctors and paramedics staged protests during the striking hour against Dr Nisar’s suspension.
The main protest rally was held at SMHS Hospital wherein large number of doctors and patients joined the protest.
The protestors raised slogans against the Government and said that Dr Nisar was victimized for raising social issues.
Patients expressed their anger over the suspension of DAK president and said that they are suffering because of Dr Nisar’s absence.
“We demand the immediate revocation of suspension orders in the interest of patients,” said a doctor.
He stated that Government should shun stubbornness and reinstate Dr Nisar in public interest.
The protesting doctors warned to go for strike again if Dr Nisar is not reinstated immediately.
“Government will be responsible for our indefinite strike,” they said.
