KU organizes social service camps for devotees

SRINAGAR, May 30: On the occasion of Friday following Shab-e-Meraj, social service camps were organized by the Kashmir University’s Department of Students’ Welfare in collaboration with the Protocol wing.
During the camps, Vice-Chancellor of KU, Prof A M Shah served juice to devotees visiting the Hazratbal shrine and also interacted with them.
The VC was accompanied by Registrar Prof Zafar Ahmad Reshi, Dean Students Welfare Prof Nilofar Khan, Chief Proctor Prof Naseer Iqbal, Asstt Dean Students Welfare Dr B K Patak, Deputy Proctor Dr Riyaz Ahmad Qureshi and Culture Officer Shahid Ali Khan who joined the camp and served sweet water to the devotees.
Two camps were organized for serving the devotees — one near the Maulana Rumi (RA) Gate and the other near the Sir Syed Gate of the Varsity.
While serving juice to the devotees the VC said: “It is a part of our responsibility towards society and the University has the tradition to organize such camps every year on the occasion of Shab-e-Meraj”.
