Freight rates fall on excess position of trucks

NEW DELHI, May 31: Freight rates for 10-tonne pay load section declined up to Rs 1,000 in the local truck transport markets today following an easy availability of the carriage against tight cargo movements.
Transporters said excess position of trucks in the markets along with thin cargo movements, mainly led to the fall in freight rates for select centres.
Delhi to Jaipur, Chandigarh, Indore and Baroda rates moved down by Rs 1000 each to Rs 20,000, Rs 22,000, Rs 24,000 and Rs 26,000.
Rates to Mysore, Goa, Pune and Banglore also went down by Rs 1000 each to Rs 70,000, Rs 57,000, Rs 32,000 and Rs 65,000.
