Hotel & Restaurant Association’s concern over opening of slaughter house

KATRA, May 31: Hotel and Restaurant Association held a meeting under the chairmanship of its president Shyam Lal Kesar and expressed concern over opening of slaughter house at Nagrota Khanpur.
While speaking, Kesar urged upon the Governor, who is also the Chairman of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board and Amar Nath Shrine Boards to intervene into the slaughter house matter.
He condemned the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) authorities for choosing Nagrota Khanpur site for the slaughter house, which is enroute Shri Mata Vaishno Devi shrine.
Kesar said that making of a slaughter house enroute Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine will hurt the sentiments of visiting pilgrims.
He further said that the place where proposed slaughter house is being made is very beautiful but Government should either auction this site for some beautiful resort or make some beautiful park or any other item which does not harm the sanctity of the visiting more than 1 crore Vaishno Devi and Shri Amarnath Yatra pilgrims.
He asked the Governor and State Government to immediately intervene into the matter and shift the slaughter house to some isolated and lonely place.
The meeting among others was attended by senior vice president Rakesh Wazir, Shiv Kumar Sharma, Virender Kesar, Vivek Sharma, Harish Dubey, Sudershan Singh, Ramneek Nawada, etc.
