MENDHAR, May 31: Farmers of the area held protest demonstration against the shortage of maize seeds in the sub division.
Reports said against the requirement of nearly 100 quintals of seeds, hardly 40 qtls of quota arrived here in the Agriculture department store. A large number of farmers of the area could not get the seeds and they started protest against the Sub Divisional Agriculture officer and CAO Poonch. They also alleged black-marketing of the stuff. Later, SDPO and Tehsildar reached there and pacified the agitating farmers.
