SAMBA, June 1: BJP MP and Prabhari for J&K Avinash Rai Khanna today said that his party Government at Centre led by Narendra Modi is committed to redressal of the problems of refugees as well as internally displaced people all over the country.
Addressing a mammoth rally of West Pak refugees at Swankha Morh near here today, he said that the successive governments exploited these refugees and failed to rehabilitate them over the years and in their one time settlement. It needs a political will to settle the problem and the Government led by Mr Modi is determined to settle the issue once for all, he added.
He said the BJP has always stood with the cause of refugees and fought for citizenship rights of West Pak refugees in the State. He appealed the refugees to show total solidarity with Party and work for making its mission 44+ a success in the State so that BJP can form the next Government on its own and remove all hurdles which are in the way of settling the West Pak refugees and granting them citizenship rights in J&K.
The rally was also addressed by newly elected MP and BJP State president Jugal Kishore Sharma who said that the West Pak refugees were facing a grave injustice as successive State Governments failed to settle their issue.
He said the refugees from West Pak who settled in the other parts of the country even became Prime Ministers and Deputy PMs of the country but it is a pity that in J&K they have been deprived of right to vote also.
The West Pak refugees president Labha Ram Gandhi said that refugees are pinning high hopes in new BJP Government at Centre. He appealed Mr Khanna and Mr Sharma to plead their case forcefully before the Government so that these hapless people can get justice.
