Ambulance Project

Sir,
This has reference to the news item ‘Delay in Cabinet approval holds up critical care Ambulance Project’ DE May 30.
The Government should not adopt a dilly-dallying attitude towards some of the projects which are of great importance to people. The critical care ambulances, as the name reveals are of great significance to people who meet accidents on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
The Highway remains quite busy throughout the year, as this is the only link that connects Kashmir province with the rest of India and is strategically quite important. This road witnesses horrible accidents almost every day. To the bad luck of accident victims, there are  no support system to provide instant medical aid to them. In emergency cases, patients are airlifted either to Jammu or Srinagar. But the process of arranging helicopters is a time consuming task. To overcome the difficulty, the availability of these ambulances is a must. They would be of immense help to patients. Many lives could also be saved. The Government should, therefore, clear all the bureaucractic hurdles to purchase them without losing further time.
Yours etc….
