JAMMU, June 2:  Jammu and Kashmir  National Trade Union Front (NTUF) has decided to launch agitation in support of pending demands of the employees and pensioners.
Talking to media-persons here today, president of the Front Mohd Gafoor Dar claimed that  the agitational programme would commence with holding of  massive protest rally at Agriculture complex, Lal Mandi in Srinagar on June 24. He declared that nearly 40,000 casual, need base and CP workers who have been engaged by PHE, Wild Life, Forest, Floriculture, Agriculture, PWD, Soil Conservation etc need immediate regularization.
Mr Dar said the Government should not test the patience of the 4.5 lakh employees of the State and address their pending issues. He pointed out that despite written agreement by the Government, the employees’ issues have remained unresolved. It is unfortunate that instead of  resolving  issues, the Government was adopting repressive measures.
He issued an appeal to the State Chief Minister to shun the path of confrontation with the employees and resolve their pending issues which include enhancement of retirement age from 58 to 60 years, regularization of daily rated/ consolidated workers and framing a definite policy for workers engaged after 1994, removal of pay anomalies and budgetary support to PSUs. He also issued appeal to the employees and other temporary workers to join protest rally at Srinagar on June 24.
