Modi Govt comes to rescue of NRHM employees

JAMMU, June 3: Proving that his Government does not believe in hollow slogans but deeds and action, the BJP Government at Centre led by Narendra Modi released the funds to the J&K Government under head No 2211 in record three days for payment of salaries to National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) employees in the State who were not paid the same for last eight months due to non release of funds by the Centre under the scheme.
This forced the JK Medical Employees Federation to launch agitation and stage a dharna in front of Director Health and Family Welfare Jammu on May 28.
However intervening the district president BJP led a delegation of the protesting employees to the organizational general secretary of the party Ashok Kaul who took up the matter with Union Health and Family Welfare Minister, Harshwardhan seeking his immediate intervention in the matter.
Mr Harshwardhan assured the BJP leader from the State that funds will be released within 10 days and he settled the same within three days and the employees were paid their salaries today.
The Federation, which held a meeting here, today under the chairmanship of S Dharmidner Singh Bhargav, complimented the GoI and Union Health Ministry for releasing the funds. It also complimented the State BJP leaders including, Mr Koul and Gupta.
The meeting expressed the hope that other issues including multipurpose grade of Rs 4000-6000 will be fulfilled by State Government at earliest.
The meeting among others was attended by R K Sharma, advisor of Federation, S Paramjit Singh its general secretary, Mrs Saroj Bala and Kamla Devi president and general secretary of FMPHW respectively.
It also complimented the Director Health and Family Welfare Baldev Raj Sharma for his cooperation in settling the issue.
