Development in Kashmir come to standstill: Hakim Yasin

Excelsior Correspondent
Srinagar, June 3: People’s Democratic Front (PDF) chairman and MLA Khansahib Hakim Mohammad Yasin today said developmental process in Kashmir Valley has come to a standstill and people were suffering immensely as the Government is in deep slumber.
Hakim Yasin in a statement said, “For several months the Government was making election Modal Code of Conduct as an excuse for not executing developmental works. But now as the Parliament election is over and it has been almost three weeks since the code of conduct ended, the Government has failed to start the developmental process in the state and especially in Kashmir.”
He said people are suffering as ration depots are without ration, roads are in worst conditions, electricity is paying hide-n-seek despite water level increasing in rivers and youth are running from pillar to post for livelihood.
“But the Government as well as other political parties are busy in debating Article 370,” he added.
The PDF chairman said that it is Government’s responsibility to solve the problems of people. “Government can’t run on statements and debates only. Most of the Ministers of the ruling coalition are more concerned about their own constituencies than seeing what is happening on ground in their respective ministries. It seems that whole government machinery in the state has become defunct,” he added.
