After retirement age, the Government was set to increase Dearness Allowance of the Government employees and pensioners by 10 per cent taking it to 100 per cent and order crediting of fourth installment of Sixth Pay Commission arrears in the GPF accounts of the staff.
Official sources said the Government was likely to increase DA of the employees and pensioners to 100 per cent within the next few days. Increase of 10 per cent in the DA was due from January 1, 2014. It would add burden of Rs 800 crores in the state exchequer
The Centre as well as majority of States have already released 10 per cent DA in favour of their employees.
The Government has also decided to credit fourth installment of Sixth Pay Commission arrears in the GPF account of its employees and pensioners in the next few months. Three installments of Sixth Pay Commission arrears have already been paid to the employees and pensioners.
Fifth and last installment of the arrears would be due in next financial year of 2015-16.
