KISHTWAR, June 5: Reaching out to the people of far flung areas of Nagseni block of Kishtwar District, Minister of State for Industries and Commerce, Home, R&B, MED, Housing, H&UDD, Tourism and Culture Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo today held a public grievance redressal meeting at Block Hqrs Padyarna.
DDC Kishtwar Mohammad Javed Khan, SP Kishtwar Sanjay Kotwal and all other district officers were present in the meeting. A large number of people of villages Bagna, Bhatan, Seri, Demzi, Dachla, Pullar and Kiyar etc including Panchs and Sarpanchs of the adjoining Panchayats participated in the meeting.
The people apprised the Minister about various problems being faced by them. They raised the issues of the shortage of teaching staff in schools, irregular distribution of ration in the CAPD outlets, bad condition of irrigation canals, non availability of medical staff in the local Ayurvedic dispensary, non-payment of MGNREGA wages and unavailability of mid day meal ration in schools. People also highlighted the poor condition of various water supply schemes in the area and demanded to ensure regular supply of clean drinking water to all villages.
The Minister after listening to the problems of people, sought reports from the concerning officers of the district while most of the issues were settled on the spot. He also announced medical dispensary at Bagna besides ensuring up-gradation of schools there. The Minister asked the R&B Department to submit a DPR for construction of Dak-Bungalow at Nagseni.
While addressing the people, the Minister said that Government is committed to ensure equal development of the State particularly the far off areas. He said prosperity of poor people is high on the agenda of the Government, adding the steps taken in this direction are showing encouraging results. He asked people to extend cooperation to the Government in taking forward development projects started by the district administration in their areas.
Later, the Minister distributed cheques of financial assistance among the beneficiaries under old age pensions scheme.
