JAMMU, June 7:  Describing attitude of Government as discriminatory, ignoring some senior trade union leaders in June 3 meeting with Chief Minister at Banquet Hall Srinagar,  senior leaders of J&K State Govt Employees  Joint Action Committee (EJAC) have alleged that major demands of the employees have been set aside while only retirement age issue has been resolved.
Addressing a joint press conference here today senior EJAC leaders including Subash Verma, Sushil Sudan, Babu Hussain Malik, Suresh Sharma, Pardeep Kumar, Prem Singh Bawa, Yashpaul Sharma, Darshan Magotra, Bharat Bhushan, Mohd Farooq and others expressed strong resentment over the attitude of Government and alleged that biased approach was adopted  and many senior leaders from Jammu as well as from Kashmir were ignored in the meeting with the Chief Minister.
They alleged that deliberate silence was maintained on  some already agreed demands   of the employees which included removal of pay anomalies of clerical cadre, regularization of daily rated/ consolidated/ adhoc workers. They condemned the State Government for inviting only selective employees leaders from Kashmir province only for discussion thereby creating a strong resentment among the employees of Jammu province. They pointed out that Qayoom Wani and a few others are not the sole representatives of the 4.5 lakh employees in the State.
They declared that employees from Jammu have decided to hold strong protest demonstration against Government on June 17  and next course of action with regard to other pending demands would be decided later. They also alleged that demands like enhancement of  medical allowance from Rs 300 to Rs 1000 per month, release of pending 10 % DA, merger of 50 % DA in the basic pay, budgetary support to PSUs, restoration of old pension scheme etc have been set aside.
