Sagar asks youth for participatory role

SRINAGAR, June 7: Asserting that the youth play pivotal role in shaping the future of the nation, the Minister for Rural Development and Panchayats Ali Mohammad Sagar today said they should come forward and exhibit a participatory role in carrying forward the developmental schemes and welfares programme initiated by the Government for their welfare.
The Minister was addressing a huge gathering of youth at Sumbal Sonawari in North Kashmir.
The Minister for Higher Education, Mohammad Akbar Lone was also present on the occasion.
Mr. Sagar said   that the Government is committed for ensuring better future for the youth of the State and in this regard several schemes like SKEWPY, Udaan and Himayat have been launched for providing them ample opportunities for technically equipping themselves, so that they can start their own entrepreneurial units and also absorbed in various multinational companies within and outside the State.
Referring to the recent initiatives undertaken by the Government for the welfare of the youth, the Minister said that they should not get carried away by the false and vicious propaganda launched by certain political parties for their vested interests but should, instead, strengthen the hands of the Government by involving themselves in the implementation of these welfare programmes.
Minister for Higher Education, Mohammad Akbar Lone, in his address, said that youth are pride and precious assets of nation and the Government has launched several welfare programmes for shaping their future so that they earn their livelihood with dignity and honour. He asked youth to extend their cooperation to the Government and take active role in day to day affairs of developmental activities.
Mr. Lone said that the Government led by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has given utmost priority to the aspirations of youth and has directed for addressing the same on priority.
