UDHAMPUR, June 7: Infuriated over unscheduled power cuts in the area, residents of village Jib, Kambal Danga, Neely Nallah, Padanoo and Rehambal held a massive protest demonstration against Power Development Department (PDD) and blocked the road connecting Jib with Udhampur.
Shouting slogans against the PDD, the agitating villagers staged a dharna on the road for more than an hour.
They were demanding immediate intervention of senior authorities of PDD for providing respite to the people from scheduled and unscheduled power cuts. They also warned an intensified agitation if no action is taken for smooth power supply in these villages.
