MENDHAR, June 7: A local plumber was hospitalized after he was mercilessly beaten by a DySP and his PSOs at Bera in Mendhar tehsil of district Poonch today.
The victim identified as Vikram Sharma (22), son of Balraj Sharma of Ari is undergoing treatment in Mendhar Hospital. The family in a written complaint to the SDM and SHO Mendhar alleged that plumber had worked with a local contractor Tazeem Akhtar. There was some complaint in the work and they called Vikram. Being sick he went there two days late.
Upon this, DySP 6th Bn, Mr Chib located in the same area, who is also said to be the friend of contractor, allegedly beaten up Vikram along with his two PSOs. The plumber was locked in a room and then mercilessly beaten up. The injured Vikram was then admitted to Mendhar Hospital. The family members and villagers got agitated. They produced him before the SHO and then SDM Mendhar. They lodged a written complaint against the DySP and his PSOs. He has been admitted to SDM under MRD No. 2972. The parents and his uncle, a Naib Sarpanch along with villagers then moved to the local court to seek directions for registration of an FIR against the police officer.
