10 bovines rescued, 4 held in two separate incidents

JAMMU, June 7: Police today rescued 10 bovine animals and arrested four smugglers in two separate incidents.
As per police sources, police party from Ramban police station led by SHO Inspector DS Katoch under the supervision of SSP Ramban Javed Iqbal Mattoo laid a surprise naka at Shan palace and intercepted a Tata mobile bearing registration numbers JK02AP 5668.
During checking, police rescued 5 bovine animals and arrested two smugglers, who have been identified as Shakeel Ahmed, son of Abdul Gani of Belicherana Jammu and Mohammad Hanief, son of Mohammad Yaqoob of Sainik colony.
A case under FIR number 68/14 under Section 188 RPC and 3 PC Act has been registered at police station Ramban and investigation started.
Meanwhile, in the evening, police party from Batote police station led by SHO Mohammad Iqbal under the supervision of SSP Ramban Javed Iqbal Mattoo laid a naka at Baggu Nallah and signaled the driver of a Tata mobile bearing registration number JKO2AJ-7672 to stop. The driver speeds up the vehicle and tried to escape, but active cops chased and intercepted the vehicle.
Police rescued five bovine animals during checking of the vehicle and arrested two smugglers, who have been identified as Irfan Ahmed, son of Javed Ahmed of Banihal and Showkat Ahmed, son of Mohammad Shafi of Vijaypur, district Samba.
A case under FIR number 48/14 under Section 188 RPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered at police station Batote and investigation started.
