JAMMU, June 9: The 12 member BJP Core Committee from the State has been summoned by Party president, Rajnath Singh in New Delhi tomorrow.
According to Party sources, the members of the Core Committee will hold meeting at BJP Headquarters,tomorrow evening.
The meeting which will be chaired by Party president, Rajnath Singh will discuss the Party’s strategy regarding coming Assembly elections and other organizational matters.
Sources said the prevailing political situation in the State will also come under discussion and Party Central leadership will take stock of its performance in the State in recently held Lok Sabha elections where BJP for the first time in history won three Lok Sabha seats.
Sources said that the Core Committee will also discuss the rehabilitation of Kashmiri migrants which is top on Narendra Modi Government’s agenda and which was also a part of Presidential address to joint Session of Parliament today and it will take views of State leaders on this issue as well.
Besides, the one time settlement of PoJK and West Pak refugees as well as terrorism affected people of Jammu region will also come under discussion as BJP has shown keen interest in settling the problems of these people on war footing basis, sources added.
Sources said that meeting will also discuss the preparations for the observance of Dr Shyama Prasad Mookerji’s Martyrdom Day falling on June 23 in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi was likely to be chief guest as Central leadership of the Party has already written a letter to State Unit in this regard.
When contacted BJP co-convener for J&K, R P Singh said various issues and prevailing political situation in the State will be discussed in tomorrow’s meeting.
He said in view of coming State Assembly elections which will be held at any time in future, the party will devise a strategy for them in tomorrow’s meeting convened by party national president.
Mr Singh said besides the rehabilitation of Kashmiri migrants with honour and dignity in Valley, settlement of long pending issues of PoJK and West Pak refugees who were subjected to injustice for last 65 years will also be discussed. The problems of militancy affected people from Jammu region and Article 370 will also be on the agenda of the meeting, he added.
In addition to Mr Singh, the meeting will be attended by BJP National general secretary, (Org) Ram Lal, Party Prabhari for J&K and MP Avinash Roy Khanna its Seh Prabhari, R P Singh, Party MPs from State, Dr Jitendra Singh, Jugal Kishore Sharma and Thupstan Chhewang, BJP Core Committee members from the State including three former presidents, Ashok Khajuria, Dr Nirmal Singh and Shamsher Singh Manhas, Party’s organization general secretary, Ashok Kaul, Bali Bhagat, Kavinder Gupta and Rajiv Jasrotia (all general secretaries) of the Party’s State Unit.
All of them have left for Union capital tonight, sources said.
