The demands were raised by the Association’s president, Tanveer Haji, in a press conference held here today.
Addressing to the media persons, Tanveer Haji along with his team said that the pressing challenges faced by the Centre owners have compelled them to bring these concerns directly to the government with the expectation of decisive action.
“Since the Chief Minister himself inaugurated this initiative in 2009, the Association believes that he will ensure the fulfillment of their demands. Khidmat Centres are the backbone of the National e-Governance Plan and Digital India Mission, playing a crucial role in connecting the administration with the public. For this reason, the government has been urged to establish a permanent rehabilitative policy,” he said.
He also highlighted that, despite the government previously sanctioning a monthly remuneration of Rs 7,500 per centre through Government Order No. 146 of 2011, this support was discontinued, exacerbating financial hardships.
The Association demanded that this stipend be reinstated until a long-term policy is implemented.
The dilution of the Khidmat Centre brand has emerged as another major concern, with the Association criticizing J&K Bank and the UT administration for failing to safeguard its identity.
The Association called for immediate corrective measures to restore credibility and maintain public trust in the system.
