JAMMU, June 10: Son of a retired Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) has been arrested for molesting a girl in Gandhi Nagar area of the winter capital.
As per police sources, a girl hailing from district Udhampur, presently residing at Gandhi Nagar lodged a complaint with police station Gandhi Nagar alleging that Harmeet Singh, son of retd DIG Telecom Bhopinder Singh, a resident of Gandhi Nagar allegedly molested her and snatched her mobile phone.
After registering a case under Section 354 and 382 RPC, police arrested the son of the retired DIG.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
Police team headed by SHO Gandhi Nagar police station Manzoor Ahmed Kohli made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Gandhi Nagar Harjeet Singh, SP South Rahul Malik and SSP Jammu Atul Goel.
