JAMMU, Mar 17: The Special Crime Wing (SCW) of the Crime Branch Jammu has filed a charge sheet against an individual accused of fraudulent sale of the land.
The charge sheet has been presented against one Jaan Mohammad of Kiryana Tallab, Jammu, who was booked in connection with a case of fraudulent land sale under FIR number 14/2022 under sections 420 and 120-B of the RPC, in the court of Special Municipal Magistrate Jammu, a Crime Branch official said.
He said the case stemmed from a complaint filed by one Faiz Mohammad Kasana of Gujjar Nagar Jammu, who alleged that Jaan Mohammad’s mother sold him a piece of land in January 2010.
However, Kasana later discovered that the land, located in Village Raika, had already been gifted to Jaan Mohammad in 2006 through a gift deed, he said.
The CB official said that despite being the rightful owner of the land, Jaan Mohammad acted as a witness to the sale deed, misleading the complainant.
He said the investigation, led by Inspector Nissar Ahmed Bhat, confirmed the fraud and led to charges being framed against Jaan Mohammad and his mother, who is now deceased.
