Govt determined to improve socio- economic condition of people: Gurezi

SRINAGAR, June 12: Minister of State for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control Nazir Ahmad Guerzi said that Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdulla is determined to improve socio-economic condition of people. He said several initiatives have been taken to upgrade the living standard of the people of the State especially living in far-flung areas.
The Minister was interacting with the several deputations including from Gurez and Sonawar constituencies.
These deputations put forth their demands including construction of tunnel on Bandipora-Gurez road and up-gradation of Water Supply Scheme (WSS), Gandtal Harwan.
The Minister said that the Government is committed to provide basic amenities to the people of all the three regions of the State. He said in this regard various innovative and flagship programmes under different sectors have been launched in the State.
Responding to the demand of construction of WSS, the Minister said that a Detailed Project Report of Rs. 3.40 crore has been prepared for WSS, Darbagh, Harwan. He said that this being a long pending demand would benefit more than 11000 souls of the area.
