SRINAGAR, June 12:  After Bollywood film makers and stars, it is now the Tollywood filmmakers who have turned up to shoot their movies in the picturesque Valley, and that too in far off villages.
South Kashmir’s Shopian district today buzzed following Bollywood star Javed Jaffri shoot for his upcoming Malayalam film, ‘Picket 43’
The actor compared the scenic beauty of this small town with world famous shooting destination- Switzerland and termed its natural beauty more attractive than Switzerland.
He said that it would be better if film makers shed the shooting of acts of terrorism and demonizing the image of Valley it can become a hot spot of film industry replacing Switzerland.
Jaffri asked film makers to visit the place and catch the serene and tranquil beauty in the eye of their cameras. “The cameras of film makers have big fortunes in capturing adventure and romance for their films here,” the actor said.
Jaffri wished promotion of tourism in the area with various recreation facilities like paragliding, rafting and other things that can entertain the tourists here in nature’s lap.
“I have and am telling people to come and capture the natural beauty of the State and show the world that there is nothing that you cannot shoot. Security is enough and the untoward incidents do happen everywhere,” Jaffri said, adding normal films which do not hit sentiments should be shot in the Valley.
The movie ‘Picket 43’ is based on the story of two soldiers from India and Pakistan and guarding their respective borders. They get befriended, owing to their human nature, as both are located in posts head to head.
Jaffri said the script of the film is not the one demonizing the armed institutions of both India and Pakistan but shows that there are some external agencies which exploit the powers of security forces in serving their own interests.
“In the film I am a Pakistani soldier and speaking pure Urdu in the Malayalam film, the person whom he did not mention on Indian side also talks to him in the same language,” said Jaffri.
Talking about the security in Kashmir, he said that it was not Kashmir only where film crew needs security.  “We need security at every place in India and I think the security in Kashmir is much better than any other part of India,” Jaffri said.
