SRINAGAR, June13: Police today claimed to have arrested two smugglers and recovered two bags of Tripatri (a forest produce) in Kupwara district.
A police spokesman said police intercepted a Sumo JK09-6970 at Lalpora in Kupwara and recovered two bags of Forest produce (Tripatri) from it.
“Two persons, Khursheed Ahmad Khan son of Hyder Khan and Parvaiz Ahmad Mir son of Nazir Ahamd Mir of Kakarpati Devsar travelling in the vehicle were arrested,” the spokesman said.
A case FIR number 34/14 under Section 379,109 RPC 6 Forest Act has been registered in this regard.
