JAMMU, Mar 27: All JK NHM Employees Association, Jammu division—a constituent unit of the Government Employees Joint Action Committee and JK Medical Employees Federation—has announced a two-hour pen-down strike across Jammu division on 29th March (Saturday) from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon to press for their long-pending demands.
In a handout issued today, Dr Vikas Sharma, provincial president of All JK NHM Employees Association, Jammu Division, said that NHM employees have been serving in the Health Department of J&K for over two decades and their contributions have played a pivotal role in improving healthcare services and patient care across the region. However, despite their significant service, the Government has failed to address their legitimate concerns, which have been repeatedly raised before the relevant authorities.
Dr Sharma said the key demands of NHM employees include, implementation of a job policy to ensure job security and stability, salary enhancement to meet rising living costs and timely salary disbursement, as frequent delays have caused financial hardships and mental distress among employees and their families.
“In light of these persistent issues, NHM employees will observe a two-hour complete ‘Kaam Chhod Hartal’ at their respective places of posting on March 29, except for emergency services,” Dr Sharma stated, adding, this strike is aimed at drawing the attention of the concerned authorities to intervene immediately and address their long-standing grievances.
He urged the authorities to take immediate action and warned that if their demands continue to be ignored, they may be compelled to intensify their protest in the future. Dr Vikas Sharma also appealed to all NHM employees across Jammu division to observe the two-hour strike effectively and ensure its success.
