SRINAGAR, June 14: To ensure drinking water facility to the domestic consumers of Srinagar city during the holy month of Ramzan, Minister of State for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control Nazir Ahmad Gurezi conducted surprise visit of PHE Provincial Control Room and took stock of its functioning.
Two complaints were received and the Minister telephonically contacted with the complainants and found that the registered complaints were correct for which the concerned officials of the department had responded expeditiously.
Earlier, the Executive Engineer, City Water Works Division Bilal Rasool briefed the Minister about the functioning of the Control Room.
Later, the Minister inspected Water Treatment Plant Nishat and took stock of the recent pipe burst restoration measures.
The employees posted at the Plant put forth some demands including issuance of uniform and construction of rest room within the premises of the plant.
The Minister gave them a patient hearing and assured them that their genuine demands would be looked into.
The Assistant Executive Engineer, Nishat Plant briefed the Minister about the functioning of the plant and the present position of raw water resources available.
