SRINAGAR, June 15: Three persons were killed while 20 others injured in different road accidents across the Valley.
Police said an Esteem car bearing registration number DL3CAU/0653 collided with a truck bearing registration number JK01A/3594 at Chachkoot Awantipora, resulting in on spot death of Esteem driver Shabir Ahmad Khankashi son of Abdul Khaliq resident of Nigeen Bagh Srinagar and injuries to 4 passengers boarded in Esteem. All the injured were shifted to SMHS Hospital, Srinagar for treatment, where Mohammad Ashraf Khankashi son of Ali Mohammad resident of Nigeen Srinagar succumbed to his injuries. After completing all medico-legal formalities, the body were handed over to the relatives for last rites. Police has registered a case in this regard.
Police said that in another accident, a Swift car bearing registration number JK01Q/1197 hit a Tavera bearing registration number JK03B/9204 on National Highway at Halmullah, Bijbehara resulting in on spot death of Swift driver Mukhtar Ahmed Sheikh son of Abdul Gani resident of Rawalpora Srinagar and injuries to 7 passengers. All the injured were shifted to SKIMS Soura for treatment. Police has registered a case in this regard.
Police meanwhile said, a Sumo bearing registration number JK03D-1898 driven by Mohammad Yaqoob Magray son of Mohammad Kamal resident of Lalan Mirbazar, Anantnag hit a Motorcycle bearing registration number JK01G -7720 at village Danwatpora, Kokernag. In this accident, the motorcyclist Umer Rashid Teli son of Abdul Rashid and his pillion mate Bilal Ahmad Shah son of Mohammad Sultan resident of Ladhoo, Pampore got injured. Both the injured were shifted to District Hospital, Anantnag for treatment. Police has registered a case in this regard.
In another road accident, a Swift car without registration number collided with Maximo bearing registration number JK18/5850 at Budgam, in the jurisdiction of Police Station Kulgam, Anantnag. In this accident two passengers and both the drivers were injured. All the injured were shifted to hospital for treatment. Police has registered a case in this regard.
A Tata Sumo bearing registration number JK03/7415 hit and injured an 8 years old girl Shabnam daughter of Abdul Rashid Magray resident of Amirpora Nambal, Anantnag at KP Road near Bumzoo, Mattan, Anantnag. She was shifted to District Hospital, Anantnag for treatment. Police has registered a case in this regard.
In another accident, a Sumo bearing registration number JK12/4475 skidded off the road at Buchoo, Kokernag, resulting in injuries to driver and two passengers who were boarding the vehicle. All the injured were shifted to hospital for treatment. Police has registered a case in this regard.
