RAJOURI, June 15: A musical night was organized by district police here today in connection with Raising Day of J&K Police.
The DIG Rajouri and Poonch range, A K Atri was the chief guest on the occasion while the welcome address was made by SSP Rajouri Mudasar Latifi.
In his address the SSP stressed on promotion of local talent. He said keeping this in view the police invited the local artists to perform during the musical night.
He said the police will work for promotion of local talent and every sort of encouragement will be provided to local artists.
Mr Latifi said besides the promotion of local talent attention will be paid for promotion of sports, art and education by organizing quiz programmes and other functions in near future.
The function was attended by a large number of people also. Besides the local artists, the artists from Jammu also attended the function. Various forms of music including Sofiana ghazals were sung by the artists who enthralled the audience.
The DIG also lauded the performance of artists and stressed on encouraging the budding artists.
