Sangat reiterates demand of minority status to Sikh community

JAMMU, June 15: Reiterating its demand of minority status to the Sikh community of Jammu and Kashmir, Kashmir Sikh Sangat pinned hopes on Narendra Modi-led Centre Government for permanent solution of their long pending demands.
In a meeting of Sangat held under the chairmanship of Dr Danwant Singh at Trikuta Nagar, here, the members said despite having minority status in all other States of the country, the Sikh community is receiving a quit-eyed treatment in the State of Jammu and Kashmir, with regard to this status.
The meeting appealed the Central Government for making permanent solution to this burning issue of the community.
Sangat also projected the demand of making an end to the unemployment faced by the displaced Sikh youth in Jammu and those permanently in the Valley.
The meeting among others was attended by Manjeet Singh, president Kashmir Sikh Sangat, Karamjet Singh, general secretary, K N Singh, Babu Singh, T P Singh and JB Singh.
