Give mandate to clean image candidates: Vakil

BARAMULLA, June 18: Former Minister and senior Congress leader Abdul Gani Vakil today said that party high command  should field only those candidates who have good image  and reputation in the society.
Addressing Youth Congress convention here today, Mr Vakil an AICC member urged upon the Congress high command not to field tainted and corrupt members in the coming Assembly elections in the J&K State. He said that party has already suffered in the State and people are deadly against corruption. In order to get good results in the forthcoming elections, it is necessary to field candidates with good image and reputation.
Mr Vakil further said that unemployed educated youth are today facing a life threatening situations as they have become soft targets for the exploiters who have always put in place  their nefarious designs to ensure than peace, prosperity and development of the State gets derailed. He said if the Government fails to recognize present alarming scenario, the days are not too far when situation in the State will turn ugly. The Congress leader urged the Central Government to launch a comprehensive employment package so that energy of the youth could be channelized in a right direction.
The AICC member pointed out that on the analogy of UPA regime, the present BJP led Central Government must provide every type of assistance to J&K Government to tackle the situation that has arisen due to unemployment so that the restlessness among the youth could be contained. He said that enhancing the entry age limit in the job is not the solution  to eradicate unemployment because an educated  youth can not roam on the roads till 40 years of age. He appealed the youth to get united and wage a war against corruption. Mr Vakil stressed upon the youth to reject the exploiters, corrupt and dishonest politicians in the forthcoming elections.
