Khan, Sharma address public meeting at Rajouri

JAMMU, June 20: Shabir Ahmed Khan ex-Minister and MLA Rajouri along with ex-Member Parliament Madan Lal Sharma and Vice Chairman Board for SC/STs Kuldeep Raj Verma here today held a meeting of Congress Party workers and prominent persons of the area.
Madan Lal Sharma said that he is highly thankful to the public of Rajouri who participated and voted in favour of Congress party in full swing and set an example for others.
Sharma said that the ability of the Party leaders and workers in carrying its message to the voters had been crucial for their mobilization. He reiterated that clear agenda and ability to identify actual issues in the coming Assembly elections will bring the Party to the centre stage of State’s political scenario.
Shabir Khan in his address said that peace and development along with a special focus on issues facing the youth, especially employment generation shall continue in the Party’s policies and agenda. The party would continue to provide an inclusive platform for all regions and communities of the State for opportunities of growth. It is unfortunate that the elections in many areas were driven by a communal polarization and it would be necessary to reverse this trend for building a modern welfare State. He reiterated that Congress has to continue with its mass contact program and organizational activities to seek a decisive mandate from the people for a strong and accountable government.
In the meeting both the Congress veterans discussed the strategy in order to bounce back in the upcoming Assembly elections. They maintained that the morale of cadres is very high and are destined to bounce back in the upcoming Assembly elections, they added. While speaking on the initiatives/decisions taken by the Coalition Government regarding the long pending demands, both the leaders reiterated that party is for the welfare of the people and shall prove better if they will be given another chance.
Vice Chairman for SC/STs, Kuldeep Verma in his address appealed the youth to get united and participate the formation of new Govt. by casting vote in favour of Congress so that transparency can be brought in the system. He asserted that it is the duty of youth to bring awareness among people regarding the new policies of the Government Khan in the end of meeting asked the Congress workers to roll their sleeves up for the coming Assembly elections and assured that the performance of the Congress is commendable and being a truly pro-people party Congress is set to win all seven seats in twin district of Rajouri and Poonch on merit. Khan said that Congress will work with zeal and zest with a strong base and in forthcoming Assembly Elections.
