SIE organizes training program for teachers

JAMMU, June 23: Organized by State Institute of Education (SIE) Jammu, a 6-day orientation training programme in the disciplines of Hindi and Social Sciences for teachers and Masters of all the 10 districts of Jammu Province commenced today.
The programme which will conclude on June 28, 2014, was inaugurated today by senior Field Advisor, Saroop Kumar Raina.
In his inaugural address, Raina highlighted the value and significance of training programme for the professional excellence of teachers working in schools. He also explained the different areas of the subjects and called upon all the teachers to adopt new techniques of teaching and avoid traditional methods including “Chalk and Talk” and teaching from “Textbooks to Notebooks”, which he said encourages only rote learning.
The welcome address was presented by co-ordinator of the programme and Field Advisor, Sarita Anand. The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Research Officer (Social Studies), Rakesh Kumari and Research Officer (Hindi), Alka Sharma, Associate Co-ordinators, SIE Jammu.
Teachers from all the districts of Jammu Division participated in the training programme. Besides, Field Oficers-OP Bhagat, Mangal Dev, Brij Lal, Principals– AQ Nadvi, Vero Devi and various Research Officers including Suresh Kumar Gouria, Daulat Ram Sharma, Tapasaya Sharma, Ranjit Kour, Anil Kumar, Ajmer Singh Manhas, Rabia Naseem, Anita Kumari, Tahira Parveen, KK Sharma, Dr Varchaskam Sharma, Kamaljeet Kour and Archana Khanna attended the programme.
