NEW DELHI : Railways has rolled back fare hike for short journey up to 80 kms in second class and partially slashed charges on monthly passes.
However, first class passengers will have to pay the increased fares as notified, railway sources said here tonight.
The hike on the monthly passes charges will be 14.2 per cent that initially was announced as two fold. The Railways had effected a hike of 14.2 per cent in fare and 6.5 per cent on freight a few days back that was due to be effective from tomorrow. (AGENCIES)
