Chilli, turmeric weaken on subdued demand

NEW DELHI, June 25: Red chilli and turmeric prices dropped by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today on subdued demand from retailers and stockists amid adequate stocks.
Red chilli and turmeric prices eased by Rs 100 each to conclude at Rs 8,400-12,900 and Rs 7,600-12,300 per quintal, respectively.
Marketmen said subdued demand from retailers and stockists against sufficient stocks pulled down chilli and turmeric prices at the wholesale kirana market here.
Following are today’s quotations (in Rupees per quintal):
Ajwain 14,500-19,500, black pepper (per kg) 750-950, betel-nut (kg) 180-200, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,300-1,415 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,450-1,600.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 680-730, cardamom (colour robin) 660-720, cardamom bold 710-730, cardamom extra (bold) 880-930 and cloves (kg) 950-1,000. (PTI)
