Jammu, June 25: Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) Jammu is pioneering new unique cultural initiatives in Jammu by using latest developed modes.
Giving details, the Regional Director of Indian Council for Cultural Relations, Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, Balwant Thakur informed that the Jammu centre of the council is all set to create a data base of the artists, writers, poets performers, musicians, composers, directors and the designers associated with the profession of light design, stage design and other artefacts used for stage presentations. This data will have the global access and thus the art and artists of Jammu will get the world platform. ICCR Jammu is not limiting its pioneering initiatives to this but is also set to create a data base of the art/music/poetry/theatre/ dance/traditional performances lovers. Using the latest developed means of communication, the Jammu centre of ICCR will create a mail-network and will invite the respective art connoisseurs in its programmes through e-invites.
With the opening of ICCR office in Jammu, the city is now fortunate enough to have the occasion to witness International performances being hosted by ICCR at their dooesteps. To ensure that prior invitations reach to the real lovers of art, ICCR Jammu will keep updating them about the information of forthcoming cultural happenings through regular flashes and updates.
Briefing the media, Regional Director ICCR, Balwant Thakur appealed all the art lovers to mail their requests for e-invites to iccrjammu@gmail.com and iccrjmuprogrammes@gmail.com. While mailing requests, the art lovers may specify their choice in order of priority. This has been the general complaint of all the art connoisseurs that they come to know about the programmes only after they are held and there is no way or a system, through which they get prior information or invitation. ICCR Jammu through its pioneering initiatives is making an all-out effort to bridge this gap. This is the high time that we have readily available information about the artists and the art lovers at one place. Balwant Thakur also appealed to the artists to submit their signed bio-datas for their inclusion in the artists data-base being compiled by ICCR Jammu.
