GANDERBAL, June 25: “Teachers are the builders of nation”, said the Minister for Forests, Mian Altaf Ahmad and asked teachers to play their role in producing cultured, talented and civilized students to form an evil free society.
The Minister was addressing at a function organized by Rehbar-e-Taleem Teachers Forum here today.
Minister of State for Animal and Sheep Husbandry, Nazir Ahamd Gurezi, CEO, Ganderbal, Principal Boys/ Girls Hr. Secondary Schools, ZEOs of Ganderbal district, besides senior functionaries of ReT Teachers Forum were present on the occasion.
Mian Altaf said that ReT scheme was launched by NC Government in 1996 aimed to ensure teaching facilities to the students of far flung areas besides, providing jobs to the locals living there. He said the initiatives taken for rebuilding the educational and health infrastructure was a challenge before the Farooq led Government at that time. He said the Government rebuilt the gutted schools and health institutions, particularly in rural and far flung areas of the State.
The Forest Minister said that the recent decision of coalition formation in favour of ReT teachers besides, increasing retirement age of the employees of the State was a bold and historic aimed to address long pending demands of the employees, adding that the interests of unemployed youth was also safeguarded.
Mr Gurezi, while speaking on the occasion, said that teaching is a noble profession and asked teachers to come up to the expectations of the people and the students.
Gurezi said, “Best teachers produce talented students” and asked teachers to be more dedicated towards their profession.
The president of the ReT Teachers Forum also spoke on the occasion.
