JAMMU, June 26: Block Congress Committee (BCC), Akhnoor led by the its president Ram Saran Bhagat met Sub Divisional Magistrate Akhnoor and submitted a memorandum in protest against hike in rail and freight charge by the Union Government.
While speaking, Bhagat said that the people of Akhnoor visit Haridwar and other places to perform last rites of their relatives and can not afford the burden of increase in the rail charges.
He requested SDM to forward the memorandum to Governor NN Vohra for further submission of the same to the concerned authorities of Government of India to resolve the issue at the earliest.
Among others present were Baldev Raj Sharma, Ram Dass, Babu Ram, Chuni Lal, Bodh Raj, Sham Lal, etc.
