Forest official injured in bear attack

Srinagar, June 26: A Social Forestry Department official was critically injured in a bear attack in Lolab area of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district today.
Police said that Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din son of Abdul Gaffar, a resident of Chandigam who was on his duty in the area as watcher when he was attacked by a wild bear near the Ziyaret Sharief in the forest area of Chandigam.
The official was rescued by the locals who chased the bear. The injured official was rushed to District Hospital Kupwara and was later shifted to SKIMS Soura for treatment where his condition is stated to be critical.
