MVD realizes Rs 30,000 fine

REASI, June 26: The Motor Vehicle Department (MVD) has realized Rs 30000 as fine from 35 vehicles and seized a sleeper coach from Katra for violation of traffic and road safety rules during a day long drive here today.
Team of the department led by Assistant Regional Transport officer (ARTO) Reasi, Rajesh Gupta conducted the checking of the vehicles and slapped fines on the commercial transport operators for violations of   traffic and road safety rules.
The team accompanied by MVD Inspector Vikas Shrivatsav and his staff also seized a sleeper coach at Katra.
Gupta   made people aware about the traffic norms and urged the transporters to play active part in minimizing the frequent accidents.
The inspection team also informed the people about their duties towards observing traffic norms and road safety rules while traveling and said that it was the prime duty of the commuters to raise their voice against   overloading and use of mobile phones by the drivers at the time of driving.
He also   warned the drivers of passenger vehicles of strict action to strictly adhere to the traffic rules to avoid any action from the department. He also advised the transporters to appoint the drivers for their vehicles after   proper verification.
