Lone asks students to strive hard to serve nation, mankind

SRINAGAR, June 26: Describing educational institutions springs of progress, prosperity and development, the Minster for Higher Education, Mohammad Akbar Lone today said students have to play pivotal role in transformation and reformation of society besides in leading nation to new era of success.
The Minister was addressing at a function organized to celebrate Graduation-Day at SSM College of Engineering & Technology Parihaspora, to felicitate about 300 pass-out students of different streams of the college.
Vice-Chancellor Central University of Kashmir Dr. Mehraj-ud-din Mir, Dean College Development Council University of Kashmir, Prof. (Dr.) G.M. Shah, Director Colleges J&K, Prof.(Dr.) Tariq Ahmad Kawoosa, Secretary State Board of Technical Education, Nazir Ahmad Malik and other eminent personalities were present on the occasion.
Mr. Lone said that Government has spread network of scientific and technological development across the state and has launched number of programmes for up-gradation and expansion of higher education. He said education setup in State has been given new dimensions and fillip by coupling skill development and technocratic prospective with customary education system.
The Minister lauded the efforts put in by the college management in creating excellent infrastructure and facilities for making this college as one of the prestigious institutes in Northern India.
Prof. (Dr.) Mehraj-ud-Din Mir, Vice-Chancellor Central University of Kashmir and Prof. (Dr.) G.M. Shah Dean College Development Council University of Kashmir also felicitated the students for completion of their Degrees from the Institute and expected their better role towards building the nation.
Chairman of the Institute, Dr. Qazi Shabir Ahmad, presented vote of thanks.
