Chevrolet Cricket Cup 2014 Strikers Club, Krishna CC outplay rivals

JAMMU, June 26: Strikers Cricket Club (ICC) and Krishna Cricket Club registered easy victories over their rivals to consolidate their positions in the ongoing Chevrolet Cricket Cup 2014 tournament sponsored by KC Motors Jammu and being played at KC Public School ground adjacent to KC Sports Club.
Earlier, Strikers Cricket Club defeated Whites Cricket Club in an easy contest by 4 wickets.
Winning the toss and batting first, WCC scored a modest total of 122 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 7 wickets in the process. Vikas and Deepak scored 28 and 18 runs respectively. For Strikers CC, Sahil scalped 3 wickets, while Sachin and Ankan claimed 2 wickets each.
In reply, Strikers Club surpassed the required target in 18.5 overs, losing 6 wickets in the process, thus won the match by 4 wickets.
Mohit and Amit Rathi scored 38 and 35 runs for their side.  Akshit was the pick of the bowlers for WCC, who bagged 4 wickets by conceding 17 runs in his 4 overs, while Rajesh and Deepak claimed 1 wicket each. Sahil of Strikers Club was declared man of the match. Sadiq Hussain Malik, Rajinder Singh and Sohail Yusuf were the officials of the match.
In another match, Krishna Cricket Club drubbed Yankees Cricket Club by 33 runs in an easy contest. Batting first, Krishna Club scored a decent total of 160 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 5 wickets in the process. Ahatsham was the top scorer with 42 runs, while Varun, Sahil and Rawat Singh contributed 28, 23 and 20 runs to the total respectively. Kapil took 2 wickets for Yankees Club, while Pranav, Shiv Dutt and Arun claimed one wicket each.
In reply, Yankees Club bundled out for 127 runs in 19.5 overs, thus lost the match by 33 runs. Kapil and Akash scored 41 and 28 runs respectively. Sahil bagged 4 wickets, while Sanjay and Rawat Singh took 2 wickets each. Ahatsham and Atul also claimed one wicket each. Sahil was adjudged man of the match for his brilliant bowling display.
Abhijyot Singh Bedi, Sadiq Hussain and Sohail Yusuf were the officials of the match.
