JAMMU, July 11: A complete pen down strike was observed at all the offices of ERA at Jammu and Srinagar against the barbaric action of Additional Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar and Collector ERA Kashmir, Mohd Aslam Qadri for manhandling a junior engineer of ERA at Hyderpora, Srinagar for not providing undue favour to his sister.
State Joint Action Committee of all J&K Graduate Engineers Associations has expressed deep shock and anguish over the incident and strongly condemned the illegal action of the Additional Deputy Commissioner, who not only physically assaulted a Government employee on duty for not acceding to his illegal demands, but also brought shame and disgrace to his post.
The committee urged the Government through CEO, ERA to take immediate strong punitive action against the erring officer.
The committee further resolved to start a State wide agitation of all engineering departments or wings in case strong penal action is not immediately initiated against the Additional Deputy Commissioner.
