KATHUA, June 26: A 12 year boy drowned in Ravi canal in village Saktake Chak near here this evening.
He has been identified as Tarjan Mehra, son of Raj Kumar. According to police Mehra along with his two friends had gone to take a bath on Ravi canal and he was washed away by the strong current of water. His dead body was recovered at a distance after one and half hour by police.
The dead body has been kept in mortuary of District Hospital Kathua for postmortem and it will be handed over to family members to morrow for cremation.
