Woman dies due to doc’s “negligence”

Srinagar, June 27: A woman died of “negligence” after her uterus was surgically removed by a female doctor at District Hospital Pulwama.
The victim, Shahzada, wife of Mohammad Ashraf of Palpora Chatripora was admitted to the hospital on June 25 for hysterectomy.
A Gynecologist Dr Hafeeza, posted in the hospital for a long time, had advised her for surgery, one of the relatives of the deceased woman said, adding the patient bled profusely after surgery and her condition began deteriorating.
“Her condition deteriorated due to medical negligence after surgery and she was almost dead,” the relative said. Hospital authorities said the woman patient complained of chest pain and a Physician examined her and referred her to the SMHS hospital.
Medical Superintendent District Hospital Pulwama, Dr. Mohammad Saleem, claimed he has conducted a preliminary inquiry which does not suggest death due to negligence.
