Workshop for construction of Chapters of Economics & Disaster Management inaugurated

JAMMU, June 27: Two-day workshop for construction of Chapters of Economics and Disaster Management as part of Social Science text book for Class X was inaugurated at CDR Wing of J&K Board of School Education here by Deputy Director, Academics, JD.
The workshop aims at inclusion of all the five components–History, India Polity, Geography, Disaster Management and Economics in the syllabi of Social Science at par with CBSE pattern.
Various resource persons from University of Jammu and different institutions participated in the workshop, wherein they reviewed the existing syllabus of Class X and restructured it with new components of Disaster Management and Economics.
Prof Jasbir Singh, key resource person from Department of Economics, University of Jammu highlighted on practical need of financial literary in J&K and stressed on inclusion of components of economics as syllabi of Class X.
Dr Reena Rani, Asstt Prof, MAM College, Jagdev Singh, senior lecturer of Economics, GHSS Pallanwala, Neelam Sharma, senior lecturer in Economics, GHSS Gole Gujral and Dr Vanita Kumari, lecturer in Economics, GGHSS, Shastri Nagar were among the other resource persons.
Harpreet Kaur, senior lecturer in Commerce, GHSS Gole Gujral, Dr Ravinder Jangral, lecturer in Environmental Science, GGHSS Mubarak Mandi and Nisha Bhagat, teacher, GHS Gajansoo necessitated the need of understanding disasters and their remedial measurer at high school level. They stressed on inclusion on components of disaster management in syllabi of Class X.
The workshop was overall coordinated by Ranjeet Singh Manhas, Academic Officer under the guidance of Director Academics Kaneez Fatima of J&K BOSE.
