JAMMU, June 27: Delegation of Corporators from Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation headed by Deputy Mayor, G Raj Kumar met Kiran Wattal, Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation, here today.
The delegation is on a visit to Jammu and Kashmir for the study of the Municipal Corporation and other local bodies.
The Commissioner apprised about working of the Corporation in detail, highlighting Revenue sources, financial support from State Govt, besides functioning of Engineering, Health & Sanitation, Building, Enforcement and other sections.
The projects and new initiatives undertaken with regard to redressal of public grievances were also discussed.
The Corporators appreciated the work being undertaken and shared their own experiences in related fields.
It was informed that the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has territorial jurisdiction over 650 sq km covering population of over 60 lakh people. The Corporation has five zones and eighteen circles with budgetary provisions of almost Rs. 4000 crore.
A Power point presentation about the activities of the Municipal Corporation was shown to the visiting delegation and souvenirs were given on behalf of JMC, on the occasion.
Among others Kapil Sharma (KAS), Joint Commissioner, JMC and officers of both the Corporations were also present during the interaction.
