KISHTWAR, June 27: BJP district vice president Ravi Kumar Thakur has criticized the Government for harassing the SPOs in district Kishtwar and alleged that this all is done to force them to quit the job by some politicians belonging to NC supported by some officers in the administration and police.
Mr Thakur in a statement issued here today said that the SPOs and VDCs have done a yeoman’s service to the nation in curbing terrorism in the hilly belt of Doda and Kishtwar and stopped mass migration of minorities from there. He said they have become an eye sore for the politicians of ruling NC which is hell bent to harass them by one way or the other.
He in an appeal to Union Government in general and MoS in PM’s Office Dr Jitendra Singh in particular who also represents the Doda-Kathua Parliamentary Constituency urged him to take up the issue with Union Home Minister and ensure that the SPOs services are regularized so that they don’t face harassment and humiliation in future.
He said the officers were harassing the SPOs in far flung areas and asking them to deposit their uniforms and arms immediately. This has caused an insecurity among the SPOs, he added.
