The Minister was informed that due to one pretext or other, Kala Kendra has stopped working and no exhibition, workshop, camp or competition has been organized for quite a long period. The delegation also emphasized that the artists above the age of 65 years need extra attention and care on the pattern of the facilities being provided to the Senior Citizens. The Minister was also told that the subsidy which was given by the Cultural Academy to the artists earlier was Rs 15,000 and there was a practice of the Academy to provide art gallery free to the artists. But now as the cost of everything is on the rise, the artists have been made to pay rent of the art gallery etc. which is contrary to the desired objectives of the art promoting organization. The Minister assured the delegation that the concerned authorities will be directed to look into the matter and expedite the process of resolving the issue at an earliest.
